  • 3 cups (380 grams) all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 sticks (227 grams) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup (100 grams) granulated sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups (247 grams) light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 cups (340 grams) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Beat the butter and both sugars until creamy, about 2 minutes, in a separate bowl.
  4. Add in the vanilla and eggs, then mix in the flour mixture.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips.
  6. Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto the baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers look slightly soft.
  8. Cool on a wire rack — or you can enjoy warm (and maybe a glass of milk).
